The title of this article asks a reflective question. The Bible's expansive history, variety of content, and different culture make it a challenging book to understand. So, could you explain it to someone? Say you had ten minutes to break it down and explain the Bible's purpose and overall structure. How far would you get?
I am going to challenge everyone reading this to take the time to watch the video contained in this link.
I know two hours makes for a decent chunk of time. Do you watch that much Netflix in a week? Ok now with that out of the way :) .....
The video will help bring some structure to your thinking and hopefully an increase in your ability to answer the question posed by this article. We do have copies of the book mentioned in this video in our library. If you'd like one, please let me know.
I am passionate about our congregation (and all believers) having a grasp of the Bible and knowing how to intepret it. I am working on a seminar for later this year that will help us gain confidence in reading and interpreting the Bible for ourselves (and teaching others as well).
I hope these resources will aid your own growth and give you fire and passion to help others grow as well. True disciples make disciples!
In Christ,
Pastor Kevin
