Each Friday we try to post something helpful on our blog. A testimony, a reflection on Scripture, or maybe even direct teaching. Today, I want to offer three questions that often challenge me as I walk with Jesus.
- How do I sound about people I have a hard time loving?
I consider this a mark of spiritual maturity - the ability to love. I Corinthians 13 isn't just for weddings, you know. It should challenge believers anytime. Even if I'm frustrated, can I consider their position, their perspective, or even if they've sinned, can I look through it as the same lens with which I view my own?
- Do I love Jesus more today?
More than I did yesterday? Last month? A year ago? Does my faith, devotion, trust, prayer, and worship truly lead me to love Jesus more and more? Am I truly a more obedient follower? Jesus said "If you love me you will keep my commandments."
- What blind spots do I have?
Am I willing to have others point things out I may not be able to see? Do I get defensive when others point out things I can correct? Do I see correction as an opportunity to serve Jesus and others better? Lord, show me please and help me do my best to trust others motives in confronting.
Be challenged today. Love Jesus and love others more and more. Display a willingness to allow any necessary correction in order for those things to develop.
In Christ,
Kevin
