Whether you’re a new believer or a “seasoned Christian” you have probably made the
statement “I trust God….”. You can insert whatever you like after that - …with my life, …everyday, ….over my kids, etc. The list goes on and on. But I ask you to pause and ask yourself, do I TRULY trust God in all things? That’s a tough question that applies to anyone in any stage of their walk with Christ.
For the new believer – Do you trust God to help you turn away from your old way of life?
For the older believer – Do you trust God to keep your faith fresh, even though your body ages?
For the single woman/man – Do you trust God with your singleness, even if it means not having a soul mate?
For the married couple – Do you trust God in every area of your marriage and go to Him first when life gets unsure?
For the widow/widower – Do you trust God even though you don’t understand why He had to take your spouse from you?
For the mom/dad/caregiver – Do you trust God when you and your child are at odds and neither of you seem to understand the other?
Trust is an easy thing to say we do, but is a much harder thing to actually put into practice. God wanted Abraham to trust Him with his son’s life. God wanted David to trust Him when he told him to spare Saul’s life. God wanted Joseph to trust Him in slavery. There are numerous examples in the Bible of believers who TRULY had to trust in God. They couldn’t do it on their own and neither can you. If you are struggling in an area, pray and ask God to help you to trust in Him and His plan for your life rather than your own.
Psalm 84:12 “…blessed is the one who trusts in you!”
