1. Discern
Elections make for a great opportunity to learn and practice discernment. Do you get all your info from T.V. ads? If so, I'd encourage you to deepen your pool of information. Read both sides of issues. Read the history of candidates and their decisions for yourselves. Get your information from more than one source. Talk to someone you trust. And above all - pray!
2. Vote
We live in a country where we enjoy the freedom to vote. That freedom comes with great historical cost. Speak with your pen!
3. Pray For Your Opponents
Pray for anyone with whom you disagree on issues or candidates. Praying for them will remind you they're people made in God's image and decrease the likelihood you'll say all kinds of incredibly nasty things about them. Also, please know that among those you disagree with in this election will be believers you will see in heaven.
4. Trust God More Than Politicians
Remember, God used all kinds of leaders in the Bible for His purposes. He knows the outcomes. Anyone receiving an office does so by God's appointment, not man's.
5. Pray For Those Elected
I Timothy 2:12 uses the words "peaceful", "quiet", and "godly" to describe kind of lives we should seek as believers and thus why we should pray for our rulers. Pray about how you can do your part to live your life for the glory of God in a way befitting this verse!
